NuCalm offers an innovative natural approach to sedation dentistry. NuCalm naturally relaxes the body within minutes without drugs. Using biochemistry, physics, and neurophysiology, NuCalm rapidly and reliably brings brain wave function to a state of deep relaxation, allowing the body to restore and rejuvenate.
NuCalm triggers the neural communication pathways the body uses to prepare for rest by first interrupting the adrenaline/ cortisol response associated with the midbrain activities of stress and then entraining brain wave function to deep relaxation.
NuCalm essentially “flips the switch” on stress and adrenaline dominance and rapidly transitions the body to a deeply relaxed state. The NuCalm experience suspends the body in parasympathetic nervous system dominance which is the only time the body is capable of healing.
Local anesthesia also called local anesthetic, is used to numb the feelings in specific area of the mouth. Numbing just the area where dentistry needs to be performed allows the dentist to perform procedures without pain or discomfort. Because you are still conscious, you can answer prompts and commands quickly and easily. And, because you have not been sedated, you can usually drive yourself home or go back to work immediately after the appointment. Patient have the option of combining this with other sedation forms, which calms the patient and reduces stress levels.
Inhaled Minimal Sedation consist of the passage of gases to the cardiovascular system via the lungs. In dentistry, inhalation sedation is the same as the use of nitrous oxide/oxygen. Nitrous oxide/oxygen has an extensive history of safety and in providing conscious sedation to the anxious patient.
IV conscious sedation is offered for management of moderate to severe anxiety. This procedure is done by a board-certified anesthesiologist who works with Dr. Salartash during your dental procedure. This allows the patient to receive most of their dental work in one visit.
The anesthesiologist will closely monitor your heart rate, breathing, oxygen levels, blood pressure during the procedure. You are conscious during the procedure, but do not feel any pain and don’t remember anything about the procedure.
Oral sedation is easy to administer as the doctor will prescribe a pill for you to remain calm during your appointment. The medication can help you to feel sleepiness and may even result in your falling asleep in the dental chair. However, if you choose oral sedation for your appointment it is required that you have an escort to and from your dental appointment.
General anesthesia is recommended for patients who have severe anxiety. General Anesthesia can encourage you to fall into a sleep-like state during your dental procedure. We work with board certified anesthesiologists to effectively and safely administer your anesthesia and monitor you during your procedure.
